With Classical Music Playing..
Seated Swans is an exercise class with carefully crafted exercises drawing upon the principles of ballet technique.
Each exercise and class is thoughtfully structured to promote strength, flexibility, and balance while prioritising safety and accessibility.
From gentle warm-up exercises to a lively challenge finale, using small fitness props such a resistance bands, balls and straps, participants are guided through a diverse range of (mainly) seated exercises, with some standing, (and holding the barre/chair) that engage both body and mind.

Improve your dance-life balance!
The health benefits of dance are well documented. Scientific research shows that 75% of the factors affecting quality of life and longevity are related to lifestyle, while only 25% are hereditary.
This means that there’s no excuse for not getting more active whatever your age, and dance in particular can play a vital role in ensuring a longer and better quality of life.
Research also often puts dance ahead of other physical activities in the variety of health benefits that it brings.
FAQs
What is it?
Seated Swans® is an initiative from the Royal Academy of Dance. These classes are making movement classes even more accessible to people of all ages and ability.
Although most of this class is seated, (some very simple work standing incorporated), we work the body from all the way from the feet the head and finger tips.
The class is set to a beautiful playlist of classical piano music.
We incorporate small fitness props, such as resistance bands and therapy massage balls into the class for movement diversity.
This is not a ballet class like Silver Swans.
Who is it suitable for?
This is a wonderful option for anyone who finds it difficult to lie down on a mat to exercise, anyone who is worried about balance or as a way to get back to moving your body again after illness or injury.
