FAQs

  • Rambert Grades empowers. It is a new holistic contemporary dance training, promoting transferable skills, and developing the whole individual. We know that learning how to dance is more than about doing the right steps, and we want to help you to find and express confidence in who you are.

Rambert grades inspires creativity and encourages dancers to make choices and develop their own interpretation of movement.

Developed by a leading team of experts from rambert and rambert school with some of the most dynamic and relevant voices of contemporary dance in the uk.

  • Not exactly. Ability to do the splits is not required! You don’t need to be super fit and flexible, but, for this specific class, exercises will move you through space and take you down onto the floor and back up again and into the air. Contemporary dance is very physical; you will move your body into different shapes, curves, tilts, balances, elevations. You will feel your muscles working and sweat!

This class is suitable for adults who have danced in the past as teens or children (at a very basic level is fine!) and want to explore dance again for their enjoyment, fitness and wellbeing at a foundational level.

Look out for the ‘New Beginner’ courses throughout the year. These short, confidence building courses are a great entry point and taster into Contemporary dance.

  • Wear clothes you are comfortable in (you will be moving standing up and lying down on the floor). Think tshirts and joggers.

Wear/bring socks and a long sleeve top layer.

    Bring a bottle of water.

  • Classes are held at Chapel House Studios, Station Road, Totnes TQ9 5HW.

Courses run throughout the year and vary in length from 5- 8 weeks long. Please see the Chapel House website here for dates and booking information.
